Late Tuesday evening. This is the second night running when we’ve stopped at the “super-marche” in Tarascon, across the Rhone, searching for dinner. Tonight we actually cooked – and both nights we’ve eaten outside on the terrace next to our apartment. We’d also stopped at a winery this afternoon, a winery that produces syrah and merlot wines, plus some whites and dessert wines, but most importantly makes some wines in the early Roman tradition. Young people in Roman dress harvest the grapes by hand, and crush them by stomping on them. The flavorings added to the Roman wines are quite different, as is the whole process. Tim bought one called Mulsum which has honey and “a certain number of plants and spices” added. Their website is http://www.tourelles.com/
